Local group Jazzinade perform live open air jazz concert

Les mercredis du jazz

The mayor of Bassan has kicked off a new tradition of free open-air live music concerts in the village square on the first 3 Wednesdays of July.

Live music is a well established part of summer life in this part of France.

These gigs aren’t about challenge and the music doesn’t stray too far from the middle of the road.

2014’s second week headliners were Jazzinade.

Bruno (piano), Francis (trumpet), Guy (guitar), Etienne (double-bass) Jean-Mathieu (drums) Jean-Luc (saxophone) Rosalie (trombone)

They riffed diligently and democratically through mainstream pieces like these.
